Mrs. Helen Gullett Hill, 97, the widow of Rev. Bruce E. Hill, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 21, 1920 in Jessamine County to Millard Gullett and Cora Hutchinson Gullett.

She was a homemaker, quilt maker, loving mother and grandmother. In her younger days, she loved to travel and had traveled to Israel twice, to Mexico and several states. She was a member of Livestone Penetecostal Tabernacle and the last founding member of Tates Creek Avenue Holiness Church which was founded in 1950. Continue reading Helen Hill

David Arnold Cuzick age 72 of Speedwell Rd, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Irvine. David was born in Oakland, California to the late Ralph Arnold and Emily Jean Cuzick.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired carpenter for University of KY. He was a longstanding member of AA at the Dry Dock club, for more than 20 years he mentored many people in the jail for Madison and Rockcastle Counties. He enjoyed working with wood and making gifts for his family and friends. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them. He was a very caring and generous person. William Edward “Billy” Lowery, 77, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond. Born January 31, 1941, in Richmond, Kentucky, he was the son of William H. and Beatrice (Frazier) Lowery, both of whom preceded him in death.

Billy was a former IBM employee and was owner of Lowery’s Lube and Tire, as well as part-owner of the former Lowery’s Texaco. He was a member of Madison Hills Christian Church. Larry Junior Abner, age 69, husband of Barbara Jean Hensley Abner died Tuesday, May 1st at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Mr. Abner was born August 31st, 1948 in Madison County, KY to the late Emory and Norma Lee Burns Abner.

He was a self-employed builder, a Vietnam Veteran serving with the Maine Corps. An avid outdoors person he enjoyed fishing, hunting and 4 wheeling. Mr. Abner was of the Holiness faith.

Bernard Gary Proctor, age 73, husband of Norma Proctor, died Wednesday May 2nd, 2018 at Baptist Health-Richmond. Mr. Proctor was born June 19th, 1944 in Rockcastle County to the late Bernard Lee and Velva Holcomb Proctor.

He was of the Baptist Faith, loved his grandchildren and his dog Eddie, he also enjoyed fishing and flower gardening. Mr. Proctor was a member of Kingston Masonic Lodge #315 F. & A. M.

He had worked as a firefighter for the city of Richmond and in the dietary department of Saint Joseph-East in Lexington. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
