Foley Middle School student Chris Begley competed in the Region 4 Middle School wrestling tournament on Saturday, January 20th where he took 1st place in the 86 pound weight class. Begley is a 7th grader at Foley Middle school and a member of the Madison Southern Wrestling Eagles High School team. During construction at Foley Middle School, a time capsule from 1995 was unearthed. The school is now attempting to locate the students involved so they can invite them to our Grand Re-Opening ceremony on Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.

The District 11 chapter of The Kentucky Music Educators Association has named Ms. Kristen Harrod from Foley Middle School the KMEA middle school teacher of the year.
District 11 encompasses all music educators in over 13 counties including Madison, Mercer, Boyle, Lincoln, Rockcastle, Garrard, Lee, Jackson, Owsley, Powell, Estill, and Wolfe.
Ms. Harrod is entering her second year at Foley. Under her direction in the 2014-15 school year, the sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade bands earned distinguished ratings at the KMEA District Concert Band Assessment.

Missy Jenkins Smith, who was paralyzed int he 1997 school shooting in Paducah, will be speaking this Friday October 10, 2014 at Madison Southern High, Foley Middle and Farristown Middle.
On December 1, 1997 a 14-year-old freshman boy who had been bullied for years walked into the Heath High School lobby in West Paducah, Kentucky, and randomly fired a .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol. Three students were killed. Five were injured.
