Jess in the Spotlight by Saylour Burchfield (Spotlight Festival of Short Plays)

Jess, a nine-year-old, is new to her school and wants to audition for the school play, but the established “theater star” thinks there is no room for competition. Join the Spotlight Players for a glimpse into the world of school bullying in this thoughtful play by Saylour Burchfield.

Performance Saturday, May 5th at 7:00pm along with The Legend of Gargantua. Tickets are available at the door. $8 Adult/$5 Student

The Legend of Gargantua is a short comedy loosely based on the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk. Author Kelsey McNeal has written a cute and entertaining script sure to leave you with a smile.

The end of another season is here, but instead of being sad it is gone, we are happy for having the experience.  Join us as we celebrate our many successes and gather with our friends to look forward to the next exciting season.

Location:  Berea Campus (The Spotlight Playhouse)

Date: July 8th

Time: 11am-2pm

We will have grills rolling with lots of food, so plan on lunch with us.

Activities for all ages.

Newcomers and guests are welcome.  Shorts tours and informational sessions will be held on a rotating basis for all three hours.

Charlotte’s Web (Spotlight Players Audition – Ages 18+)

Join the Spotlight Players – Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) Troupe for the Fall.  Our first show will be the timeless story, Charlotte’s Web.  Charlotte’s Web in on the required reading list for Kentucky school grades 2 & 3. This delightful musical will perform at the Playhouse on Sept 8-10 then will be available for travel to local elementary schools for daytime performances the following two weeks.  Actors auditioning must have some daytime flexibility.

Audition Info:
Who: Anyone Age 18+
Where: The Spotlight Playhouse
When: Saturday, July 8, 10:00am
(Early auditions can be arranged by appointment 859-661-0600)
Participants will be expected to read and sing a song (if auditioning for a featured singing role).

Charlotte’s Web the Musical was composed by Charles Strouse, whose other works include Annie and Bye Bye Birdie.
